COLLEGE & CAREER WORKSHOPS
Hiking Workshop - Amy Chien & Julie Chien
It's a full moon weekend! As we take to the hills and valleys of Sharpe Reservation, we'll explore and see how many areas of nature reflect the Son, the creator of all things. And we might also discover the significance of God's creation in our own lives. This is the one workshop that will be on the move! Please plan to wear closed toe shoes, long pants and socks appropriate for hiking.
Dating Workshop - Kelly Ng
Dating should not be so difficult.
Come to this workshop and let’s talk about how to apply sound biblical
principles practically to our dating life. We will learn to face our
fears and worries in a manner that builds life-giving relationships, and sets
you and others free to experience the grace of God. We will also identify qualities and dynamics
that point to a healthy dating relationship.
Men’s Workshop - David Leedy (Men Only)
It’s a confused world. Men are bombarded by conflicting messages about what it means to be a man. We often feel as if we are stuck in a state of boyhood, unable to find the resources within to become the friend, leader, and lover we aspire to be. This workshop will help you discover what it means to be men of God and how to foster the quality relationships we yearn for. We will also talk openly about issues of common struggle that we encounter in a broken world.
Greatness: Letting the Holy Spirit Shape And Guide Us Into Our Destiny - Pastor Linda Johnson (Women Only)
Greatness is the call of every believer, yet women often shy from that call. Our greatness doesn't come from who we are but who is in us: God the Holy Spirit. Learn some steps on how to cooperate with the Spirit within us to reach our destiny and live out our calling as women of God.
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” – Reading the Bible for Practical Application - David Eng-Wong
Wading through the Bible often leaves us clinging to easily understood gems such as John 3:16 and ignoring whatever else we can’t make heads or tails of. It doesn't have to be this way! Join us as we learn techniques and approaches in learning to read the ENTIRE Bible for practical application. This workshop is designed with the goal of being practically oriented through an interactive learning process.
The Purpose of Suffering in the Christian Life - Benjamin Nicka
Suffering comes upon us all, in diverse forms and times, from within us and from the world around us. Through the Old Testament, we'll explore how the Christian vision deepens our understanding and hope, outlining a model of the human heart, contemplating Scripture's witness, and completing an individual exercise regarding an occasion of suffering in our own lives. The goal of the workshop is to provide tools for greater fruitfulness in suffering and a more authentic understanding of and witness to our fellow humans.
Priorities: How to Live with First Things First - Pastor Brian Ralston
Priorities are the criteria by which decisions are made. Everyone invests, saves or spends resources according to their priorities (time, money, energy, relationships, etc). We either choose priorities or allow someone else to set them for us. As followers of Christ, our priorities must align with His; our lives lived according to the plans and purposes of our Lord and Savior. Join us for a study of God’s Word that will help set and keep “first things first” in our busy lives.
Living a LIFE of Prayer - Jackie Snape
As Christians we are called to pray "unceasingly". But how many of us know what that looks like? How do I do that in today's 24/7 tech dominated world? In this workshop we will learn and experience how to maintain open dialogue with the Lord. Whatever your learning style there will be something for you! Prepare to have fun and experience Him in new and fresh ways!
