  Speaker Bio 

Eric Hoey currently serves as the Director of Evangelism and Church Growth for the General Assembly Council of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).  Reverend Eric Hoey has served as Co-Pastor at Alhambra True Light Presbyterian Church from  2002 - 2007. He previously served as the Pastor to the South Bay Presbyterian Church.


Rev. Hoey has a Masters of Divinity at Talbot School of Theology.

  Contest 

We are holding a contest to promote build community, unity and to get to know each other a little better.   In order to do so we would like you to complete the sentence: “I am attending ECBC because...“.   We would like you to complete this sentence either by video, essay or picture slide show.   A sample video can be found here.


 The entries will be judged on quality, creativity and originality.  The winner will receive a free registration to ECBC.  Deadline for submission is August 15, 2008 11:59PM.


Official Rules



  1. ELIGIBILITY:  The contest is open to anyone who wishes to attend ECBC.  Entrants’ response must be received by August 15th, 2008 11:59PM for judgment. 


  2. WAYS TO ENTER: Each participant may enter by mail or by sending their responses to info@ecbcusa.org along with their full name, church name, email address and phone number.


  3.  PRIZES: Grand Prize (1): Free registration to the College and Career Conference.


  4. JUDGING CRITERIA: All eligible ideas received by the contest deadline will be reviewed by a panel of judges to determine (1) Grand prize winner on  August 15th, 2008 11:59PM.  Entries must be the entrant’s original work, must not have not been previously produced or published, must not infringe on any third party rights and must be deemed suitable.  Entries deemed lewd or offensive will be disqualified.  Multiple entries will be accepted.


  5.  GENERAL RULES: Grand prize winner will be notified by phone and email. 
  Francis Eng Scholarship Fund 

The Frances Eng Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to conferees who would otherwise be unable to attend.  Tax-deductible contributions are welcome and appreciated.  

Send a written request along with a completed registration form and the $40 Registration Fee postmarked by 8/11/2008.  Limited aid is available.  You must specify the amount and reason for request.
